Some Royal Cakes..

Apparently this was the cake made for the marriage of Pierce Brosnan.. Obviously it was larger than this

This is the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Wedding cake. Designed and created to celebrate the 60th Wedding anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. I read that the decoration on the cake was inspired by the Queen's wedding gown.. now, thats a Royal Cake!!!

The process that goes behind it

This amazing and breathtaking cakes are made by Mich Turner, called the Bentley of Cake Makers.. She is a leading designer of couture wedding, birthday and celebration cakes. I saw her creations on a tv show, and I couldnt stop myself from googling her. And what I found was just pure work of art. I have just selected the pictures of the cakes that I liked the most, you can peek at it also at http://www.lvcc.co.uk/index.asp. These are really Spectacular Cakes.. However if you are thinking of ordering them..do check the prices.. they are called couture cakes for nothing..

Snaps from above

I love space.. Its so fascinating, the idea of planets and there being countless of them, and we..the lucky one residing in one such small planet in the entire universe.. its so mysterious. There was a time when I wanted to become a astronaut..Explore the world, the space, the universe.. Well, I didnt become one. But that doesnt stop me from reading and keeping myself engaged with it.. Here I found this snaps of our home taken by the International Space Station astronauts. Breathtaking!!!

A Life in Pop

There are tributes to Micheal Jackson on every site you visit.. Admitting frankly, though many of his songs are my favorite, I am not a huge fan. His life was very intriguing. Being called the king of pop and still you are bankrupt..thats something. I am not at all interested in how he died, whether it be a cardiac arrest of drug overdose. He lived his life and now is in a better place. I found this, a wonderfully created interactive time line of his life and career. Someone put a lot of effort in making it. Worth checking once..

Playful Fashion..

Tennis is one of my passions.. Since I live in a small city, there arent any tennis courts, but I would sure love to learn to play it some day. So as of now, I satisfy myself by following it in television :)

Right now, Wimbledon, one of my favorite grand slams is going on.. Its held in London, England. What makes Wimbledon stand out are its green grass courts, no advertisements visible on the courts and the players are dressed in all white. Why all white?? Traditionally, white is considered the colour of sport since it stands for purity. Since the Wimbledon Championships places great emphasis on tradition, it insists that players wear only white. But, dont think that will make the tennis players forget how to dress.. Just have a look below.

Surprised to see the great Roger Federer accessorising with gold !!! Many were.. But i liked it, its good to see some color as well as some risks.. Also note how the gold is cleverly used in the jacked lining and in the shoes. Rest of the men's tournament is kinda boring from the fashion point of view. Its all white with black linings and patches.. Boring !!!!!

Now to the ladies.. and you dont have say or write anything. Just keep scrolling down.

Starting with one of the dresses that i loved..Wonderful bag and even exciting is the jacket. Stunning Maria Sharapova. Below, Maria a couple of days before the tournament at a store.

On to the two William sisters..liked Venus(on the top) a bit better then Serena (bottom)

Another fav, Ana Ivanovic.
On the right, Ana at a Wimbledo pre party

And finally..take a look at this

Dinara Safina... She is currently the number one female tennis player..dress up accordingly!!!!! Add some feminine touch

Watching in June

I dont go to the theaters too often and I hate watching movies on my lappy, so you probably wont believe when I say I love watching movies..yes, I love them. I may be a bit late in seeing them, but I enjoy them equally as any one watching it first day first show..

So while I was praying that some good movie comes on television, let me to knowing that some of my favorite movies were released in this month. So lets talk about them. The best I picked was (remember, i just browsed the list for the last cpl of years) Lake House. A friend of mine suggested it, and I loved it. Although I feel it could be much better, I still love it. What fascinates me is the simplicity in which the love story is shown, a simple, clear and pious way.. Two persons, one in the present and other in the past get to know each other, starts liking each other n fall in love.. And even though this is clearly impossible, it's amazing. One the scenes which I really liked was their walk together.. Ya.. two persons, times apart take a walk together and its really really sweet. Dialogues such as, 'She's more real to me than anything I've ever known.' and 'One man I can never meet. Him, I would like to give my whole heart to. ' are sure to make u mushy. Watch it someday, whenever u get the time.. It is a bit flawed, but u will like it.. And who knows, one day Barjatya family makes a bollywood movie out of it. :)

Other June pick is Cinderella Man. Russell Crowe is amazing. If u liked Tara Rum Pum, then you should watch this movie to see what crap they made out of a gem story. And if you hated it, then watching this movie is a must. The Devil wears Prada, another one. Superb story, amazing acting, and even amazing are the coats that Merly Streep throws on her secretary Anne Hathaway. And if you like animation, do watch Ratatouille. Its just pure time pass movie.. U wont get bored even for a second. God knows, how the Pixar guys come up with such ideas, a mouse with an uncanny ability to cook food..

And last but not the least, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.. You wont understand why I liked it, its cause of some special personal reasons ;)

Ending on a totally different note, just read on..

"This disease leaves suffering and orphans and fear wherever it reaches. Every man and woman and child who suffers from this addiction, from the streets of Philly to the villages of Africa, is a child of God who deserves our love and our help."

George Bush said this some years ago refering to AIDS...Hillarious!!!
